Limitless will host its biggest Blood Donation Drive yet on Wednesday 29 February, when hundreds of people based at The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali will give blood for Dubai’s Latifa Hospital.
The event, part of The Galleries’ 2012 community relations programme, is drawing massive support from office and retail tenants at Limitless’ flagship project, many of whom, along with Limitless staff, have supported The Galleries’ Blood Donation Drives since they began in 2010. Others, including staff from new tenants Siemens, Atos, China National Petroleum Company and Apollo Tyres, are taking part for the first time this year.
Latifa Hospital, which runs Dubai’s central blood bank and supplies government hospitals, private hospitals and trauma centres across the emirate, will set up a special clinic at The Galleries for Wednesday’s event.
Bahaa Abouhatab, Head of Projects for Limitless in the UAE, said: “The need for emergency blood can strike anyone at any time, and we are proud to help Latifa Hospital to meet its constant demand for supplies. Our previous Blood Donation Drives have been a great success, but our 2012 event looks set to be bigger than ever: twice as many people are now based at The Galleries compared to this time last year and many of our corporate tenants are actively encouraging their staff to be part of this worthy cause.”
Erich Kaeser, Middle East CEO of Siemens, which employs about 1800 people in the UAE, said: “As a company, we feel it is very important to show our commitment to and actively engage in all the communities that we are involved in. This is why Siemens has invited all its employees in the UAE to participate in supporting the blood drive at two company office locations, including at The Galleries in Dubai, and in Abu Dhabi.”
The Galleries at Downtown Jebel Ali, Dubai’s fastest-growing business community, is an eight-building mix of commercial, retail and residential towers, set in a 20,000 square metre landscaped plaza. Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, one hour’s drive from Abu Dhabi, The Galleries has its own Metro station, connected to the office towers by a shaded walkway.
Occupancy at The Galleries A-grade offices has reached 75 per cent across three towers, with more leases being finalised.
