Interchange 8 cuts 20 minutes off Galleries commute. World Cup scores on screens. Galleries first retailers gear up for summer opening.

Interchange 8 cuts 20 minutes off Galleries commute
The newly-opened Interchange 8 on Sheikh Zayed Road has knocked 20 minutes off journeys to The Galleries, says Limitless.

Interchange 8, serving Downtown Jebel Ali and Jafza, provides direct access to the development, cutting costs, congestion and fuel consumption. Tenants who drive there each day now have, on average, an extra 100 minutes spare time per week, thanks to shorter, more convenient journeys and improved traffic flow on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The Galleries, Limitless’ flagship project in Dubai, also has its own Metro station, opening later this year, according to the RTA. Hundreds of Galleries tenants plan to take the train to and from work once the station is up and running.

World Cup scores on screens
Limitless is supporting the 2010 FIFA World Cup by displaying daily results on The Galleries’ giant screens throughout the month-long tournament.

Scores are being carried on weekdays on two of the four 105 sqm digital screens, which face Sheikh Zayed Road and are passed by around 200,000 motorists a day.

The screens, adorning the developments’ four A-grade office towers, will also soon be available for commercial use to The Galleries’ growing list of international and local tenants, and other organisations in the UAE.  For more information, call Limitless on + 971 4 435 7868.

Galleries’ first retailers gear up for summer opening
The Galleries’ first restaurants, cafes and shops are due to open over the next month, providing a range of food, drinks and everyday items to tenants and visitors at the mixed use project.

Fit out is complete with finishing touches underway at Arabic eatery and coffee bar Mushmaool, opening this month, while Fresh Plus convenience store is preparing to start business in July.  Meanwhile more food and beverage outlets and retailers are currently being fitted out ahead of planned openings later this year.

The Galleries’ office and retail tenants include L’Oreal, Ericsson, Kraft Foods, Standard Chartered Bank, SPX Corporation, Permasteelisa Gartner, Capitalstone, Citibank, Blom Bank France, Diamond Lease, Appetite, Nordsee, Subway, Oregano, Mushmaool restaurant and Fresh Plus convenience store.

The Galleries, in zone one of Downtown Jebel Ali, is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, 45 minutes from Abu Dhabi. It is set in 20,000 square metres of landscaped grounds featuring pools, fountains, shaded gardens and a 300-seat amphitheatre.  Each of the four A-grade office towers at The Galleries also has its own shaded podium garden.
