HSBC is the latest global name to join The Galleries’ growing business community, Limitless announced today (Tuesday).
HSBC, the fifth international bank at The Galleries, occupies 1,500 sq ft in the development’s retail complex. It joins Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Blom Bank France who, combined, cover nearly 10,500 sq ft.
Meanwhile long-standing tenant Kraft Foods has taken an additional 6,600 sq ft (half a floor).  Kraft now occupies more than 30,000 sq ft at the development.
These and other key activities at Limitless’ flagship project are covered in The Galleries’ Q4 2011 report, out today.  Other highlights include:
·                            Office space occupancy across three towers reached 74.5 per cent (up three per cent on Q3);
·                            Siemens, Atos, Konecranes and SKA Energy all officially opened new premises at The Galleries;
·                            Completed construction of a shaded, tree-lined walkway connecting the Jebel Ali Metro station to The Galleries’ commercial towers; and
·                            Hundreds of visitors to The Galleries’ 40th National Day celebrations; and a three day road safety initiative by tenants Apollo Tyres.

Bahaa Abouhatab, Limitless Head of Projects in the UAE, said:  “The end of 2011 saw many milestones for The Galleries, and 2012 looks set to be another landmark year for our growing community project.  We have a number of new commercial and retail deals in the pipeline and many corporate and community events planned for the year.”
            Nearly 440,000 sq ft of A-grade commercial space has now been leased at The Galleries’ first three buildings, which offer 588,000 sq ft of office space in total.  In addition, 24,000 sq ft of retail space is now occupied.
Office tenants at The Galleries now include Daikin McQuay, Siemens, L’Oreal, Ericsson, Arup, China National Petroleum Company and Kraft Foods, while onsite retailers include Subway, Oregano Italian eatery, Click restaurant and a Bakeria/Café Arabicca outlet and five international banks.
The Galleries is an eight-building mixed-use development set among landscaped, communal grounds that, at 215,000 sq feet, are the size of three international football pitches.  Less than an hour by car from Abu Dhabi and directly accessed from Sheikh Zayed Road direct road or via its own Metro station, The Galleries has 2,200 underground parking spaces as well as onsite Facilities Management and Tenant Relations teams.
